Norwegian energy data and intelligence company TGS has picked up a new 4D streamer acquisition assignment off the coast of Australia.
TGS has secured the award of a 4D streamer acquisition contract offshore Australia for which the Ramform Sovereign seismic acquisition vessel is scheduled to mobilize in December 2026. The survey is expected to take close to 50 days.
No further information about this assignment has been disclosed. The 2008-built vessel, part of the Ramform S-Class, is equipped for multi-sensor, broadband acquisition using TGS GeoStreamer technology and can tow up to 22 streamers.
Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS, commented: “We are very pleased to secure this contract award, which provides visibility into the first quarter of 2027. The award from a repeat client demonstrates continued confidence in our differentiated acquisition capabilities, including our Ramform acquisition platform and GeoStreamer technology.
“The combination of advanced acquisition solutions and consistent data delivery helps our client optimize field performance and enhance reservoir recovery over time.”
This 4D streamer acquisition job comes only days after TGS started a large-scale 2D seismic reimaging project offshore Egypt, in partnership with Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS).
