Saipem has secured a new contract with GOE Petrol Sanayi to provide commissioning services for a floating production unit (FPU) destined for Türkiye’s largest natural gas field.

Saipem’s scope of work for the Osman Gazi FPU, intended for the development of the Sakarya gas field in the Turkish Black Sea, will have an expected duration of approximately eight months.

The award follows the operation readiness & assurance support services contract awarded to the company this April.

The Sakarya field, discovered in August 2020 and developed by Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), is located approximately 170 kilometers offshore, at a water depth of around 2,150 meters.

To remind, Turkish Petroleum hired a consortium consisting of SLB, Subsea7, and Saipem on an EPCI contract in May 2023 for the second planned development phase of the Sakarya gas field, consisting of subsea production systems (SPS) and subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF).

At the end of 2025, Saipem secured a contract for the extension of the third phase of the Sakarya gas field development, which includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of three additional pipelines, for a total length of approximately 153 kilometers, with associated subsea structures, to connect the new natural gas reserve discovered at the Goktepe field to Sakarya phase 3 facilities.
