An image authentically shows U.S. President Donald Trump being carried by Secret Service agents after fainting at the White House in response to Republican losses during the Nov. 3 midterms.
After Democrats flipped the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate in the Nov. 3 midterms, an image (archived) spread online purportedly showing U.S. President Donald Trump being carried out of the White House by Secret Service agents after fainting in response to Republican losses.
The image in question has signs of being edited or created using artificial intelligence tools. The White House also denied that fainted in response to the midterm election results. As a result, rate this image as fake.
A White House official told Snopes over email, “This is completely false and an unserious question.”
The night of the election, Trump told The New York Times over the phone that he would accept all the results. In the aftermath, on Nov. 4, Trump appeared before the media speaking about his White House ballroom and other Washington, D.C., construction projects. There was no indication he had suffered any health event the evening prior.
The image had strong indications of being AI-generated. The soles of Trump’s shoes are too small. One version of the image shows
However, other versions of the image on X and Threads don’t show any cameras. An X post (archived) shared by the Iranian embassy in India shows a video version with Trump being carried out by agents and thrown into a bin labeled “Hazardous waste.” Other indications of AI generation include Trump’s tie, which appears to have three separate sections hanging from the knot, and disembodied hand appearing under Trump’s right thigh.
The story also appears on a site named USALOD, which publishes unverified content including articles with the headline: “Meghan Markle, 45, is looking stunning in New Look, raising big questions as she was recently spotted enjoying some quality time with a mysterious man.”
In an apparent contradiction to the headline, the article in question states:
Any genuine medical emergency involving an American president would require clear communication from the White House and reliable confirmation from medical officials.
At present, there is no verified confirmation that Trump fainted, was rushed out of the White House, or received a new medical diagnosis.
Snopes has previously debunked false rumors about Trump, including fake quotes attributed to him.
