London-based oil and gas player Energean has put into operation a second oil train on a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel deployed at a field off the coast of Israel.

Energean has confirmed the commissioning of the second oil train on its FPSO Energean Power, which was completed on July 13, 2026. The FPSO upgrade expands the unit’s total liquids processing capacity from 18,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) to 31,000 bbl/d.

“This milestone further strengthens Energean’s position as Israel’s largest liquids producer and increases the proportion of the company’s revenues linked to Brent pricing,” underlined the operator.

The move further increases the proportion of the company’s revenues linked to Brent pricing. The liquids production was tested at rates of up to 21,000 bbl/d.

Following completion of the Katlan-related subsea tie-in activities, the FPSO Energean Power is expected to undergo testing at higher liquids production rates in August 2026.

The start-up of production at the Karish field occurred in October 2022, once the FPSO crossed the Suez Canal and arrived in Israel in early June 2022.

Energean’s liquids production from Israel averaged 10,000 bbl/d in H1 2026 and, in line with the company’s 2026 guidance, is expected to average 17-21,000 bbl/d in H2 2026.
