Venture Firm Team8 Secures Additional $365 Million

Israel-based venture fund Team8 announced this week that it has secured $365 million in additional capital.

The company says $265 million is for Team8 Capital’s third fund, while $100 million will be used for additional investments in the most promising portfolio startups.

Team8 says the new funding brings its assets under management to close to $2 billion since it was founded in 2014.

The venture capital firm incubates and funds early-stage enterprise technology companies. It uses a venture-creation model to co-found and support startups spanning cybersecurity, AI, fintech, and digital health.

Its cybersecurity portfolio features prominent ventures such as Talon, Dig, and Koi — all acquired by Palo Alto Networks.

Through strategic capital and operational backing, Team8 helps these types of companies develop solutions designed to solve critical enterprise security challenges.

The list of cybersecurity firms that received funding from Team8 this year include Frame Security, Act Security, Mate Security, Jazz, Fig Security, Astelia, and Lema AI.

Unsurprisingly, the company’s focus is currently on AI.

“As AI capabilities continue to evolve at a pace none of us has seen before, competitive advantage won’t come from the model underneath a product – it will come from solving fundamental enterprise problems that stay relevant across technology cycles,” said Sarit Firon, Managing Partner at Team8.

“That’s exactly where we believe the next generation of category-defining, AI-native companies will be built, and it’s exactly where our enterprise Village communities and our go-to-market, recruiting and AI teams give founders an edge nobody else can offer,” Firon added.
