On July 24, 2026, footage purportedly showing U.S. President Donald Trump, 80, collapsing while trying to get into a vehicle spread online. People shared the video as alleged evidence of Trump’s declining health.
The clip received traction on X (archived) and TikTok, where one video (archived) received more than 3 million views, as of this writing. Many people appeared to believe the video was a genuine depiction of the president falling and needing help from someone.
Snopes readers searched the site for information about the video.

In the video’s first posting, the creator wrote in a caption: “Video is AI, but all the same.”
That disclaimer was not immediately visible. Viewers had to click “more” to see the video’s full caption, which read [emphasis ours]:
It’s coming Donny.. You feel it don’t you? The pull. It’s heavy. You know it’s around the corner and there’s nothing you can do. No stopping it. No avoiding it. The ultimate inevitability. Hours later, as the video circulated widely, the creator made another post saying:
You can’t take everything at face value. And this is an amazing lesson with TikTok and life and politics and what’s going on is you have to click more. You have to look beyond the headline.
We reached out to the creator seeking further information, like what software he used to make the video. We will update this story if we receive a response.
The fake video was based on footage from July 1, 2026, that Fox News published. That original, unedited video shows Trump pausing briefly, with one foot in the air, as he gets into the vehicle. At no point in the video does he collapse.
The AI-generated video contains visible signs of AI software, including blurred borders and misshapen, unnatural hands.

It’s possible the TikTok creator used a July 1 Instagram post (archived) to help make the video. That Instagram post has the words “BREAKING NOW” in the same colors and font as the in-question clip.
