A screenshot authentically showed a Truth Social post by U.S. President Donald Trump that accused Democrats of using “WITCHCRAFT AND SATANISM” to win the 2026 midterm elections.
In November 2026, a screenshot (archived) circulated online that social media users claimed authentically showed a Truth Social post by U.S. President Donald Trump accusing Democrats of using “WITCHCRAFT AND SATANISM” to win the 2026 midterm elections.
For example, one version of the screenshot on Threads read:
I was told not to say this but we all know the truth, The Democrats and lunatic left have engaged in WITCHCRAFT AND SATANISM to interfere in our elections on a spiritual level!!
America is ONE NATION UNDER GOD and we WILL FIGHT these results!
President DONALD J TRUMP
The screenshot also circulated on Facebook and X (archived). Snopes readers wrote in, asking if the alleged post was real.
The post was fake. A search of the term “WITCHCRAFT AND SATANISM” on Trump’s Truth, a site that archives the president’s Truth Social posts, returned no results.
Additionally, the screenshot of the fake post listed the date as “11/4/2026.” Real Truth Social posts use the date format “Nov 04, 2026.” Therefore, the screenshot did not come from Truth Social.
We contacted the White House Press Office for additional confirmation that Trump did not write or publish the post in question and await a reply.
Trump reportedly told the New York Times on Nov. 3 that he was “absolutely willing” to accept the results of the election. By contrast, the fake post claimed Trump would “fight” the results.
Trump reportedly told the Times he would “look forward” to working with the incoming Democrats.
Democrats wrested power from Republicans in both the House and Senate in the 2026 midterm elections. The 120th Congress, which will include the winners from November’s election, will be sworn in in January 2027.
