VulnCheck has disclosed two previously undocumented factory implants in firmware for routers built by Shenzhen Zhibotong Electronics (ZBT), each of which gives an unauthenticated remote attacker the ability to run commands as root on affected devices. The implants, named SPEAKINGSTONE and DARKLANTERN by the company’s zero-day research team, are tracked as CVE-2026-74232 and CVE-2026-74233. It is set to be discussed at the informal EU foreign ministers’ meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday in Wicklow, Ireland, according to three EU diplomats with direct knowledge of the discussions, who were granted anonymity to speak candidly about the private topic. Meta’s India and Southeast Asia vice president, Sandhya Devanathan, is leaving the social media giant to join OpenAI, the ChatGPT maker told TechCrunch. Devanathan will be based in Singapore and report to OpenAI’s Asia-Pacific managing director, Kiran Mani. Toy and game giant Hasbro is notifying employees that their personal information may have been compromised in a data breach. The notifications sent to affected individuals contain little detail, but they indicate that the exposed information, which varies by individual, may include names, email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, national ID numbers, and financial information.  The information comes from notification letters that Hasbro submitted to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.  It’s unclear how many individuals are affected in total, but it’s likely hundreds or a few thousand.
