PMS has completed the installation of two offshore production platforms, Hoor-1/2 and KSE-1, as part of Phase Four of the development project at the Kamose offshore gas field, operated by North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO), in line with the objectives of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy to increase natural gas production.
Petroleum Marine Services emphasizes that this installation supports plans to develop natural gas fields and strengthen the country’s offshore petroleum infrastructure. The Hoor-1/2 offshore platform is designed to accommodate two wells, with the first to be drilled as part of the current fourth phase of the project, while the second will be spudded during the upcoming fifth phase.
PMS’ scope of work included the installation of two production platforms, each weighing 575 tonnes, with a total weight of 1,150 tonnes. These operations were carried out using the company’s own PMS-12 offshore barge and supporting marine units, in full compliance with the highest quality and safety standards and in accordance with the project’s approved schedule.
According to the Egyptian firm, PMS-12 is considered one of the strategic assets in its marine fleet, equipped with the technical capabilities and operational capacity required to install production platforms and lay and deploy subsea pipelines.

PMS highlighted: “This achievement underscores Petroleum Marine Services’ capabilities in executing complex offshore construction projects, drawing on the expertise of its Egyptian workforce and its advanced marine fleet.
“The completion of these works builds on the company’s successful completion of the installation and laying of the project’s three subsea pipelines, each with a diameter of 8 inches, supporting the completion of the offshore infrastructure required for the field’s development.”
The company aims to proceed with the subsequent project phases by installing the Snefru offshore production platform, weighing 510 tonnes, followed by the scheduled tie-in and commissioning activities within the project scope.
The installation of the two platforms comes after Petroleum Marine Services finished a project in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez, including the installation of an 18-kilometer gas pipeline and upgrades to the asset’s offshore platform at a field operated by Gemsa Petroleum Company (Gempetco).
